Duo Cylindre takes a refreshing new look at the similarities and possibilities of flute and clarinet in combination and expands the traditional framework to include auxiliary instruments, transcriptions, piano, percussion, and electronics.
Andrea Vos-Rochefort and Lizzy Darling form a dynamic and versatile chamber ensemble, frequently performing at universities, high schools, and conferences, and touring throughout the United States. Within the community, educational outreach is an important facet of Duo Cylindre’s performance footprint, including an extensive residency working with STEAM initiatives in Dayton and Cincinnati, and performing for and teaching underprivileged communities at Title I schools, libraries, and various public venues.
Dedicated to the creation of new and diverse music, Duo Cylindre actively commissions works from underrepresented composers and has performed and presented at the Price Hill Creative Community Festival, the International Clarinet Association’s Clarinetfest in 2019 and 2021, NACWPI in 2020, and recorded together with Alyssa Morris on her debut album for the woodwind quartet, Motion, in 2017.
