The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Trumpets are led by Dr. Kyle Millsap, Associate Professor of Trumpet & Jazz at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Under his direction, the ensemble has been invited to perform at state, national, and international music conferences, receiving enthusiastic reviews from the audience. They were invited to be one of the featured ensembles in “It Starts With Music,” celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Texas Music Educators Association. In 2021, they finished in 3rd place in the National Trumpet Competition. Since 2013, they have commissioned five new works for trumpet ensemble, and their performances have been showcased on KEDT public radio. More information is available at tamuktrumpets.com.
